Zimbabwe v Bangladesh 2nd Test, Harare, April 26-30 2001 ZIMBABWE WON BY 8 WICKETS & SERIES 2-0 BANGLADESH'S STEEP LEARNING CURVE Again Bangladesh showed some encouraging signs on the batting front, but their bowling lacked enough collective penetration and allowed Zimababwe to dictate the match and the series result. After losing the toss again, Bangladesh put up some fight, with keeper Hossain and Bashar posting fifties and adding 114 for the fourth wicket. But either side of that Heath Streak and Ray Price cut through the middle order, leaving them with a decent but below par 254. All the home batsmen enjoyed themselves at the expense of the Bangladesh attack. Whittall adding 59 to his 1st Test century, and Streak adding 87 - his highest Test score - to his four wickets, which eventually earned him man-of-the-series. Richard Kendall |
